Rusty at Rest

Posted on Dec 7, 2013 in color, photography

Quite by accident, I discovered that the 55mm f2.8 micro AIS lens that Melinda bought me for Christmas a last year works great as a portrait lens on my D7100, despite being a manual focus lens. In a situation like this, manual focus actually does a better job of focusing on the fine hairs surrounding the eye.

I definitely plan to do more experimentation with this combo. This lens appears to be much better as a portrait lens than the 60mm micro that I tried earlier this year.
